Thank you so much for stopping by my website. I hope you will find something here to interest you.
So let me introduce myself. I am a novelist, a civil and mechanical engineer, a Vietnam-era Air Force veteran, a Catholic by faith. Politically I am a centrist who subscribes to neither party, although I like Ike and really-really like Harry Truman. I also like baseball, grandkids, golden retrievers, public works, trains, California native plant gardening, stories that make me think, people who try to tell the truth, and people who work hard and struggle. I don’t like deception, narcissism, greed, bullies, or people too lazy to look at both sides of an issue.
I like to write about what I know, but there is so much that we don’t know, or that I don’t know. And that’s why I write fiction.
If nonfiction serves up answers, fiction provides questions.
If nonfiction serves up answers, fiction provides questions.
My debut novel, The Anaheim Beauties Valencia Queen tells the story of a young man whose longings for a father figure’s validation allow the Anaheim Ku Klux Klan to seduce him. His girlfriend Helen, having her own father issues, is similarly seduced by Hollywood. Neither Hollywood nor the Ku Klux Klan are known for their soft landings. I’d tell you more, but I don’t want to spoil the ending.
If nonfiction serves up answers, fiction provides questions. A lot of what I write is meant to engender good questions. I hope you will find something in my writing – both my fiction and my blogs – to enjoy and to make you think. And thanks again for stopping by.
